The VEP program ("Virtual Exchange Program") is a virtual collaborative learning modality that aims to offer a free international experience opportunity to undergraduate students by offering "Virtual International Exchange Components" (CIIV) in disciplines of Undergraduate Courses. At UERJ this program is regulated by "Deliberação 027/2022".

The courses with CIIV are called: Internationalized Disciplines/Subjects (DI) of the VEP-UERJ Program, and it is offered to students in order to promote the development of intercultural competences and transversal skills:
Intercultural competencies: intellectual skills, attitudes and conduct that promote communication between people of different cultures and habits.
Cross-cutting skills: used in different activities.
 
The Staff-teaching or lecturers involved in offering the internationalized subject will be called "Facilitating Lecturers".

The language of interaction between the classes involved in the DI will be defined between the partner Staff-teaching or lecturers: UERJ and the foreigner partner, taking into account the multilingual character that, preferably, the DI should have.
